Rather than following marketing cycles or trend-driven formulation practices, the company has consistently prioritized ingredient function, skin compatibility, formulation integrity, and long-term skin health — particularly for sensitive and reactive skin.
The company’s formulation philosophy draws from generations of Northern Italian soapmaking traditions, botanical preparations, and a longstanding respect for ingredient restraint and functional skincare.
Early Ingredient Transparency & Cosmetic Safety
From its earliest years, By Valenti® prioritized ingredient transparency, environmentally conscious formulation practices, and cosmetic safety standards.
In 2011, the company became one of only 321 cosmetic brands out of more than 1,500 participants to meet and surpass the requirements of the Compact for Safe Cosmetics, receiving “Champion” recognition from the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and the Environmental Working Group (EWG).
At a time when ingredient disclosure and cosmetic safety discussions remained limited within much of the beauty industry, initiatives such as the Compact for Safe Cosmetics helped establish many of the early conversations that later contributed to the broader ingredient transparency movement within cosmetics.
While many newer brands would later popularize the language of “clean beauty,” By Valenti® had already established its formulation philosophy around ingredient restraint, transparency, skin compatibility, and environmentally conscious standards years earlier.
Formulation Standards
By Valenti® formulations are developed with a focus on compatibility, stability, and functional ingredient selection rather than excessive formulation complexity.
Products are manufactured in small batches and tested through independent third-party laboratories prior to release in order to help verify microbial safety, stability, and formulation integrity before products reach customers.
The company prioritizes ingredient compatibility, balanced formulations, and long-term skin tolerance over trend-driven product development.
Ingredients & Materials
By Valenti® products are formulated using botanical ingredients, functional active ingredients, essential oils, and carefully selected synthetic materials when formulation safety, stability, or performance require their use.
The company avoids the use of unnecessary fillers, excessive fragrance loading, petroleum-derived mineral oils, phthalates, parabens, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, EDTA, and various other ingredients the company considers incompatible with its formulation philosophy.
Rather than relying on marketing terminology alone, By Valenti® evaluates ingredients according to formulation purpose, safety data, stability, skin compatibility, and environmental considerations.
Cruelty-Free Standards
By Valenti® has maintained independent cruelty-free certification since 2012 through both the Leaping Bunny Program (United States) and The Naturewatch Foundation (United Kingdom).
The company also declines to sell in markets requiring mandatory animal testing for cosmetic products.
European Standards & Long-Term Compatibility
Although formulated and manufactured in the United States, By Valenti® formulations are strongly influenced by European cosmetic standards, ingredient restraint, and a longstanding Northern Italian approach to skincare centered around balance, compatibility, and functional formulation.
